Mr. Big is a Hard Rock Group Band formed in 1988. Band A quartet composed of Eric Martin (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Pat Torpey (drums); Mr. Big also includes Richie Kotzen, who has a good reputation, based blues guitarist who replaced Gilbert in 1999. The band recorded for their musicianship, and scored several hits. Their songs are often characterized by strong vocals and vocal harmonies. Hit them including "To Be With You" (Billboard Hot 100 number one single in 15 countries for weeks, in 1991) and "Green-Tinted Sixties Mind".
Mr. Big remains active and popular for over two decades, despite internal conflicts and changing music trends. They disbanded in 2002, but after requests from fans, they reunited in 2009; their first tour in Japan, in June 2009.

A Brief History of Establishment
After the bass player Billy Sheehan left David Lee Roth in 1988, he began forming a new band with the help of Mike Varney of Shrapnel Records, a label specialized in the shredding genre. He recruited Eric Martin, lead singer of the rock-oriented Eric Martin Band and Soul-oriented solo artist as well, and soon added guitarist Paul Gilbert and drummer Pat Torpey. Gilbert was respected as a guitarist who has released two albums with Los Angeles-based band, Racer X. Torpey came to California from Arizona, and toured with a number of Famous Artists Musicians, especially Robert Plant.
Cover Single To Be With You
The newly formed band hired Herbie Herbert, former manager of Journey, Europe, and Santana, to become their manager. In 1989, they signed with Atlantic Records and released their debut the same year. The tape does not get a success as the Mainstream Rock Band in the United States, but success in Japan. In June 1990, the opening band on tour in America to Rush.
Mr. Big's second album, 1991, Lean Into It, is a major commercial breakthrough, especially the two ballads, "To Be With You" (number one song in fifteen countries) and "Just Take My Heart", and "Green- Tinted Sixties Mind ". They toured the UK in April and May 1991 and again in 1992, releasing a live album, Mr. Big Live, in 1992. For three nights, they opened for Aerosmith at London's Wembley Arena.
In 1993, another ballad, a cover song Cat Stevens "Wild World", (from their third album, Bump Ahead) rose to the top 10 of the chart. The band also contributed the soundtrack to the Sega Mega CD release of The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin.
They released Hey Man in 1995. The song "Take Cover" is included on the soundtrack for Mega Man cartoon series.
Although the band has previously been successfully replicated in the U.S. market, their popularity continued to soar in Japan, they also get a newer more stable following in Southeast Asia markets like Thailand and South Korea. In Japan and throughout Asia, on the other hand, they continue to do the Tour, resulting in a number of Live release for the Japanese market.
Live At Budokan is one of their Live release is intended for the Japanese market only. At the time the album came rigidity as a band member each being more preoccupied with other projects, while the band broke up in 1997.
Back in 1999
Gilbert left the band in 1997 and eventually returned to the Racer X. Richie Kotzen, another musician and former guitarist Poison, was brought in as a guitar player. Two studio albums released by this new formation: Get Over It in 2000 and Actual Size in 2001. Get Over It was released in Japan in September 1999, and producing multi-platinum hit number one in Japan "Superfantastic". Mr Big toured the twentieth of Japan followed by New Year's Eve 1999 show with Aerosmith at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo. Get Over It 'was released in the United States in March 2000.
In 2001, Mr. Big released the "Actual Size" in Asia. This CD managed to occupy the charts in three places and "Shine", the first single, reaching number one position. The song was also used as the ending theme to the animated series Hellsing.
However, tension has developed between Billy Sheehan and the other members, and the band broke up in 2002.
Reunion
On February 1, 2009, radio announcements for the "Koh Sakai's Burrn Presents: Heavy Metal Syndicate" contains a brief message from Mr. Big in Japan announced a reunion to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their debut album. A press conference in Japan in February which produced good news, and a tour to several countries starting in June was announced, with shows in ten locations (including Budokan). They held their first reunion concert outside of Japan in Tallinn (Rock Cafe), Estonia in September 2009 to continue their tour.
Warner Music Japan released a remastered copy of the four studio albums, as well as a greatest hits CD and DVD. There are two new songs on the album, "Next Time Around", and "Hold Your Head Up".
